hrms. i agree with kelly and rong'en.

taking the average lot, people cry because they feel *insert extreme synonym for sad*. most ppl wldn be hypocritical and cry because they thought they needed to. its like why waste the energy sobbing and all when u cld be consoling someone? okay so yeah. ppl cry when they feel sad and down. they lost a loved one, and they are still trying to get over that loss. in the process, people wld cry. or maybe its cos of a sense of err. i dunno how to describe. theres this chinese saying tt says tt a parent can take care of her children for all their lives, but once the children are all set up to start to repay their parents its too late.

however, at funerals, there will always be ppl tt aren so close to the deceased one. i was at my great grandmother's funeral last october. some people were sobbing here and there during the wake, but usually it was peaceful. the loss meant alot to everyone, but i guess we were all happy that she lived a long and fulfilling life. during the actual funeral however alot of people becan to cry. not wailing tho. but yeah. maybe it was the memories of the person. yaknow. that these memories cannot ever be relived again? pardon the pun.

anw i guess social norms wun exactly come into play during emotional events like a funeral. u wldn cry cos ur mum asked u to rite?

oh btw i heard tt there are really people who celebrate funerals. its for centurians and stuff. wad i heard is for chinese funerals anyhow. since the deceased lived a really long life, its not a bad ting tt they died cos they yaknow. lived a long life. if its like a 7 year old dying in an accident then it wldn be anyting to celebrate la. but for centurians they wld actually be quite happy tt the person lived such a wholesome life. so they wld play mahjong and make merry at the funeral. but of course they wld also feel sad.

so yea. our world is weird. x)
